Being in a car accident can be overwhelming and stressful. Knowing what steps to take immediately following an accident can help you stay calm, ensure safety, and protect your insurance claim.
1. Check for Injuries
Your first priority should be the safety of everyone involved. Check yourself and your passengers for injuries. If anyone is hurt, call 911 immediately.
2. Move to Safety
If the vehicles are drivable and it's safe to do so, move them to the side of the road to avoid blocking traffic. Turn on your hazard lights to warn other drivers.
3. Call the Police

4. Exchange Information

5. Document the Scene
